A bronzed figure depicting a mine rescue worker or miner produced by ASP. The sculpture captures a dynamic scene of a figure in full subterranean breathing apparatus, including a face mask with corrugated hoses and a rear-mounted oxygen unit, navigating a textured rocky crevasse. The piece is rendered with high levels of detail in the uniform and equipment, finished with a dark brown patinated surface. The integral rocky base is incised with the handwritten edition number 144 / 1000 and the maker’s mark © 1990 ASP. The sculpture is mounted upon a separate, stepped oval wooden plinth with a polished dark mahogany finish.
