A collection of three portable transistorised cassette recorders from the 1970s and 1980s. The first unit is a Philips N2233 Full Auto Shut Off recorder, featuring a black and silver-tone plastic cabinet with a metal speaker grille, sliding volume control, and piano-key style buttons. It is housed in its original expanded polystyrene inner packaging and accompanied by a retail cardboard box and a printed instruction manual featuring musical graphics. The second unit is a Panasonic Slim Line AC/Battery portable recorder with a black plastic body and ribbed silver-tone top. It bears a small yellow adhesive label on the cassette door reading 5423. The third unit is an ITT SL 59 automatic recorder, featuring a two-tone black and grey plastic housing with a perforated speaker grille and a metal carry handle. The ITT unit includes an orange record button and a thumbwheel volume control. Marks present include N2233 FULL AUTO SHUT OFF and PHILIPS on the first unit; AC/BATTERY PORTABLE CASSETTE RECORDER / AUTO STOP, Slim Line, and Panasonic on the second; and ITT, automatic stop, and SL 59 automatic on the third.
