A child’s equestrian riding hat and hunt whip. The hat features a rounded crown and stiffened brim, finished in a chocolate brown velvet with a central fabric-covered button. The interior is lined with a quilted, ribbed brown textile. A white fabric label is sewn into the crown, printed in brown text Daniel Neal & SONS LIMITED. The accompanying hunt whip consists of a natural wood shaft, possibly malacca?, leading to a twine-wrapped grip and a leather keeper loop at the terminal. The handle is fashioned from an L-shaped piece of carved staghorn? or bone? with a series of horizontal grooves for grip, joined to the shaft by a white metal ferrule. A small white label is adhered to the leather keeper printed with the characters CLAY.
