Two sterling silver napkin rings of differing designs. The first ring, hallmarked for Birmingham, 1914, by Henry Williamson Ltd?, features a horizontal reeded design throughout the exterior. It has a circular cartouche engraved with the cursive monogram SLS. The hallmarks consist of the maker’s mark H.W.Ld in a quatrefoil shield, an anchor assay mark, a lion passant, and the date letter p. The second ring, hallmarked for Sheffield, 1934, by Atkins Brothers?, is decorated with a fine engine-turned barley-corn pattern between plain flared rims. One side bears a rectangular vacant cartouche, while the opposing side is engraved with the cursive initials JCC and the date 27-5-36. The interior of this ring shows evidence of a light gilt wash. The hallmarks include the maker’s mark H.A in a three-part shield, a crown assay mark, a lion passant, and the date letter r.
