A Victorian style five-stone boat-shaped ring, featuring a carved gallery and scrollwork shoulders. The setting is crafted in yellow gold and holds five graduated round-cut stones in a claw-style arrangement. The central stone is a clear round-cut diamond?, flanked by two dark blue round-cut sapphires? and two further clear round-cut diamonds? at the terminals. The boat-shaped head features decorative openwork along the gallery. The interior of the shank bears a series of hallmarks in five separate cartouches: a set of initials, a crown symbol, the numerals 18, an anchor for the Birmingham assay office, and a lowercase date letter i or l. The markings indicate the piece is 18 carat gold and was assayed in Birmingham.
