A set of four antique brass horse brasses, each featuring a different suit from a deck of playing cards. The collection includes the hearts, diamonds, clubs, and spades motifs. Each piece is sand-cast with a heavy, raised border and a central openwork cutout of the respective suit symbol. The reverse sides exhibit a textured, granular finish characteristic of the sand-casting process, with visible casting seams and irregularities. Each brass is topped with an integral rectangular hanging loop designed for leather harness attachment. The items are finished in a natural aged patina with areas of verdigris and oxidation, particularly within the recessed borders and on the reverse sides. No maker marks or signatures are visible.
