A Victorian? ecclesiastical brass altar candlestick of substantial form. The piece is constructed with a wide, flared circular base rising to a central columnar stem. The stem features a rounded knop? at the midpoint and terminates in a deep, cup-shaped drip pan. The drip pan is finished with an ornate, pierced crenellated gallery featuring a repeating trefoil and fleur-de-lis pattern. The candlestick is composed of several turned and cast components. The surface shows a developed yellow-gold patina with areas of surface oxidation and residual wax within the decorative crevices of the gallery and central knop. No maker marks or signatures are visible.
