A Swiss musical jewellery box of stained wood construction, designed in the form of an Alpine chalet. The structure features a hinged roof with a textured shingle effect, decorated with applied small stones and opening to reveal a single storage compartment. The facade is finished in white with applied miniature wooden shutters, window boxes containing artificial floral displays, and a miniature exterior table and bench. The underside is fitted with a metal winding key embossed with the characters REUGE and a red adhesive label printed with the text Brahms Wiegenlied and SWISS MUSICAL MOVEMENT. A handwritten inventory or reference number H06551 is applied to the base in black ink. The musical movement is produced by Reuge? of Switzerland and plays the tune Brahms’ Lullaby.
