A pair of hollow-cast composition puppet heads, likely of European? origin. Each head is constructed from a mixture of wood pulp and adhesive, featuring hand-painted details. The larger head depicts a traditional clown or Punch? character with a prominent nose, painted white circles on the cheeks, and red accents to the mouth and nose. The second, slightly smaller head, displays a smiling character with a green painted ruff? or collar around the neck and brown hair. Both heads feature vertically moulded seams from the manufacturing process and open neck sockets for attachment to a textile body. The interior of the neck sockets reveals a light-coloured, textured material. No maker’s marks or inscriptions are visible on the exterior or interior surfaces.
