A pair of vintage hand-puppet heads, likely constructed from a composition material such as sawdust and glue or papier-mâché, finished with a painted coating. The lot includes a Punch-style character featuring a prominent hooked nose and a red-tipped chin, alongside a clown-style character wearing a fixed, small pointed party hat. Both heads are hollow with a moulded flange at the neck for the attachment of textile bodies. The figures are hand-painted, with the clown featuring blue eyes and a wide, grinning mouth, and the Punch-style figure displaying a characterful profile with painted hair and eyebrows. There are no maker’s names, marks, or country-of-origin labels legible on the exterior or the interior of the neck flanges.
Height of Punch-style head: Approximately 8 cm
Height of clown-style head: Approximately 7.5 cm.
