A cast iron kettle of rounded, bulbous form featuring a tapered spout and a large semi-circular swing handle. The vessel is constructed with a coarse, pitted surface texture characteristic of early industrial casting and is finished with a black coating? throughout. The kettle is fitted with a flat lid topped with a simple central peg knob. The accompanying sad iron consists of a solid triangular cast iron base with a metal handle frame featuring a detachable-style latch mechanism. The handle is fitted with a dark-stained turned wooden grip. No manufacturer names, registration marks, or size numbers are legible on the exterior surfaces of either piece.
