An Arts & Crafts iron? fireplace companion set of hand-forged construction. The stand is formed with a central twisted pillar and a decorative openwork panel composed of scrolled, leaf-like ironwork, terminating in a tripod base with three out-turned spade-shaped feet. The accompanying fire tools, comprising a shovel, a barbed poker, and three-pronged tongs, are each fitted with tapered handles featuring hammered surfaces and decorative punched ornamentation. This decoration consists of rows of concentric circles and small dot motifs. The handles show no legible characters or names. The set is finished with a dark, aged patina throughout.
