A Jacobean Revival oak gateleg table featuring a dark-stained, solid oak drop-leaf top of oval form when extended. The underframe is constructed with six barley-twist carved legs, two of which act as gates to support the leaves. The legs are connected by a system of square and ring-turned stretchers, terminating in small bun feet. Accompanying this is a Georgian style mahogany? wine table. This secondary piece features a circular dished top with a raised, moulded outer rim, supported by a turned baluster pedestal. The pedestal rests upon a tripod base comprising three cabriole legs. Both items display traditional construction methods typical of British occasional furniture from the early to mid-20th century.
