The grouping comprises four pre-decimal currency issues: a white metal shilling featuring the English crowned shield reverse, a white metal sixpence with floral emblems, a yellow metal? twelve-sided threepence showing a crowned portcullis, and a bronzed? halfpenny depicting the Golden Hind sailing ship. The coins are arranged to display their reverse motifs against a dark blue background bordered in gold and maroon. The mount features printed text reading A SPECIAL YEAR, A collection of coins minted in, and 1958 in gold-toned script and block lettering.
