A commemorative wooden framed coin collection containing a set of UK pre-decimal currency dated 1963. The assembly is presented on a dark purple mat with a printed gold-tone border and includes four denominations: a copper one penny featuring a Britannia reverse, a copper halfpenny with a Golden Hind reverse, a cupro-nickel sixpence with floral emblems, and a dodecagonal nickel-brass threepence with a crowned portcullis. The frame is finished in a mahogany-style wood with a gilt metal effect inner slip and a glazed front. The matting is printed with the text A SPECIAL YEAR A collection of coins minted in 1963 and the right-hand vertical edge bears the printed mark © COINAGE DE4 3NS. 2005. The reverse of the frame features a hinged rear support stand.
