A collection of blue and white transfer-printed earthenware plates, totalling twenty-three pieces. The assortment features a variety of traditional English designs including landscape scenes, floral bouquets, and geometric borders. One plate depicts a central landscape titled ‘The Watermill’, with the reverse bearing a printed black backstamp in a decorative cartouche reading ‘Williamsburg’, ”Country Scenes”, ‘The Watermill’, ‘Adapted from a nineteenth-century English engraving in the collections of Colonial Williamsburg’, ‘Spode’, ‘Made in ENGLAND’, and ‘S3631-A1’. The other plates in the group display varied motifs, including a bridge with figures, central botanical sprays, and pagoda-style borders. The rims exhibit different profiles such as smooth, wavy, and scalloped edges, all adorned with intricate foliate and scroll-work transfer decoration.
