A Middle Eastern? style tinned copper plate of circular, shallow form. The piece is constructed from hand-hammered copper and features evidence of interior tinning, much of which has worn away to reveal the underlying orange-toned metal. The wide rim is decorated with a repeating stamped border of teardrop-shaped motifs, each containing a small circular detail, creating a textured repoussé effect. The central well is sunken with a raised rim defining the base. An incised mark is present to the centre of the base but is not legible as a specific name or maker. The reverse shows remnants of solder around the central foot rim, indicating domestic use and repair.
