A Beswick glazed earthenware figurine of a Green Woodpecker, model number 1218, designed by Arthur Gredington. The bird is rendered in a naturalistic vertical pose, clinging to a textured tree stump base decorated in earthy shades of brown and green. The plumage is finished with fine detail, featuring a vibrant red crown, black and white facial markings, and wings in varying tones of green. The underside of the base features an incised model number 1218 and the incised subject name ‘Woodpecker’ in cursive script. A circular black printed mark reads ‘BESWICK · ENGLAND’ around a central numeral ‘7’.
