A hallmarked sterling silver hip flask and a set of nesting spirit cups. The flask is of rounded rectangular form with engraved foliate scroll decoration to opposing corners and a knurled screw-top cap. The shoulder of the flask is struck with hallmarks for sterling silver and the Sheffield assay office. The maker’s mark consists of a trumpet with a banner containing the characters E, S, and D, likely for James Dixon & Sons Ltd?. Accompanying the flask is a set of white metal spirit cups of flared conical form with a brushed interior finish. The cups are contained within a cylindrical brown leather carrying case with a fold-over flap secured by two metal snap buttons. The interior of the case flap is stamped in gold lettering REAL HIDE / MADE IN ENGLAND.
