A large Murano hand-blown art glass figurine of a clown. The figure is depicted in a standing pose, wearing a cobalt blue top hat and a voluminous, ruffled glass collar in graduated shades of orange and yellow. The clown features a white glass face with a red nose and mouth, black and white eyes, and textured yellow glass hair. The torso is composed of multi-coloured internal glass swirls in red, blue, green, and yellow, accented by three applied translucent blue glass buttons. The figure has white glass hands, holding a solid blue glass orb in the right hand and a red, green, and white striped ball in the left. The figurine is mounted on oversized solid black glass feet. The construction is characteristic of 20th-century Venetian glasswork. There are no maker’s marks, labels, or etched signatures visible on the body or the base.
