A pair of George III sterling silver spoons featuring Old English pattern handles decorated with bright-cut engraved borders. The bowls are ornately hand-pierced with an intricate interlaced strapwork design and further enhanced with fine engraved detailing. The reverse of the handles bears a full set of London hallmarks including the lion passant for .925 sterling silver, the lowercase o date letter for 1809, the George III duty mark, and the TP over IP maker mark for Thomas and James Phipps I.
