A pair of Louis XV style side chairs constructed from a dark-toned hardwood. Each chair features a cartouche-shaped back topped with an ornate pierced cresting rail carved with foliate and shell motifs. The back panels and seats are upholstered in a mustard-gold and beige floral damask fabric, which is secured to the frame with brass-headed upholstery studs. The chairs are supported by four cabriole legs, with the front legs featuring carved knees and terminating in scroll feet. A serpentine-fronted apron joins the front legs, decorated with a central carved floral detail. No maker marks or labels are visible.
