A pair of early 20th-century chapel or church side chairs constructed from a light-coloured hardwood. Each chair features a curved top rail and an integrated book trough situated to the rear of the backrest. The frames are supported by square-section legs joined by H-pattern turned spindle stretchers. The seats are padded and upholstered in a red and tan damask-patterned fabric, secured with decorative brass-toned nailhead trim. A small white rectangular label is visible on the top rail of one chair.
