A Victorian mahogany trumpet sewing or work table. The hinged octagonal top with a moulded edge opens on a chain stay to reveal a fitted interior containing a central deep well and peripheral segmented compartments. The interior currently contains an assortment of vintage sewing supplies, including wooden spools of thread and embroidery silks. The body is of tapered octagonal trumpet form set upon a turned central pedestal, supported by a tripod base of three carved cabriole legs terminating in scroll feet. A small rectangular brass plaque is present on the underside of the lid with characters that are not clearly legible.
