A modern Egyptian papyrus painting by Garhy, depicting Pharaoh Tutankhamun hunting from a chariot. The composition, inspired by traditional New Kingdom iconography found in the boy king’s tomb, shows the Pharaoh and a queen, likely Ankhesenamun, both drawing bows from a two-wheeled chariot drawn by a pair of red horses. A hunting cheetah is depicted running alongside the chariot. The scene is rendered in vibrant pigments on a natural papyrus support with irregular deckled edges. Several panels of hieroglyphic text are included, with two royal cartouches on the left side; the upper cartouche contains the throne name of Tutankhamun, Nebkheperure. The work is signed in Arabic script in the lower right corner on the green ground line. It is housed in a modern gold-toned metal frame with a wide cream-coloured mount.
