The scene depicts the Virgin Mary seated on the lap of Saint Anne, holding the infant Christ who interacts with the young Saint John the Baptist. The style is quintessentially High Renaissance, utilizing soft sfumato shading. The print is presented on a textured paper or board and is mounted within a prominent, ornate gilded frame with deep-relief foliate, floral, and scroll mouldings.
