A Bernard Bloch ceramic character tobacco jar and cover, modelled as the head of a bearded man with a wide smile. The piece is constructed from earthenware with cold-painted decoration. The figure is depicted wearing a wide-brimmed black hat, which functions as the detachable lid, and a red cravat at the neck. The lid is topped with a textured composition finial. Incised marks are present on the inner rim of the base section.
