A ceramic tobacco jar or humidor of late 19th or early 20th century European manufacture. The vessel is moulded in the form of a character head depicting a smiling man wearing a turban. The turban is decorated with a striped pattern in shades of pale green, pink, and off-white. The piece is constructed from moulded bisque pottery with a cold-painted finish to the facial features and a partially glazed finish to the headwrap. The interior of the jar is coated in a plain white glaze. A small circular vent hole is present at the crown of the lid. No maker marks, factory stamps, or model numbers are visible on the surfaces of the base or lid.
