A French faience ceramic mallard duck pate terrine designed by Michel Caugant. The two-part vessel comprises a lid naturalistically modelled as the upper body and head of a male mallard, and a corresponding base forming the lower body. The piece is finished in a hand-painted polychrome glaze, featuring a green head with a yellow bill, a white neck ring, a brown breast, and green and yellow plumage with black detailing on the wings. The underside of the base bears a black script inscription in French: Cette pièce en faïence véritable, a été entièrement réalisée à la main. Je vous la propose en exclusivité. Michel Caugant.
