A pair of mirrored Parian ware figurines titled Peace, designed by the sculptor James Wilson. Each classical female figure is depicted wearing a draped chiton, with one hand resting upon a lyre which is positioned atop a fluted column pedestal. In her other hand, she holds a rectangular book or tablet. The figures are executed in fine unglazed white bisque porcelain, intended to simulate the texture and appearance of Carrara marble. The pair are mirror images of one another, designed for symmetrical display.
