The assortment comprises various designs including circular and shield-shaped medals in gilt-metal effect and white metal finishes, many featuring polychrome enamelled or painted centres. Several medals are decorated with silhouettes of dancers in balletic and stage poses, while others bear embossed lettering for various dance organisations and festivals. Readable inscriptions include INTERNATIONAL DANCE TEACHERS ASSCN, THEATRE DANCE FESTIVAL, DARFIELD STAGE DANCE FESTIVAL, and AWARD FOR DANCING. The medals are pinned in a dense circular arrangement across the surface of the board.
