A Luftwaffe flight barracks administration boot jack or Stiefelknecht. The utility object is fashioned from two pieces of solid wood?, consisting of a tapered main board with a U-shaped heel cutout and a rectangular fulcrum block jointed to the reverse. The upper surface is marked with a clear black ink stamp featuring a Luftwaffe eagle clutching a swastika above the characters FL. U. V. and the production date 1944. The surface shows an aged patina with varied staining and wear marks indicative of period barracks use.
