A large and highly decorative three-panel folding firescreen crafted from cast metal with a bright gilt finish. The screen is designed in the Rococo Revival style, featuring elaborate openwork panels decorated with scrolling acanthus leaves, C-scrolls, and foliate flourishes. Each of the three hinged panels contains circular frames with central floral rosettes. The central panel is topped with a substantial pierced decorative crest of scrolling leaves. The reverse shows the construction of the casting and the hinges connecting the three sections. No maker’s marks or signatures are visible on the object.
