A large three-fold folding fireplace screen constructed from cast brass with a polished finish. The design follows the French Provincial Louis XVI style, featuring an arched central panel flanked by two hinged side panels. The frames are ornamented with deep scrolling foliate and acanthus leaf motifs, with a pierced scroll-work crest surmounting the centre section. Each panel consists of a fine dark-finished wire mesh inset with a central cast ornamental appliqué. The structure is supported by four cast, outswept foliate feet. There are no visible maker’s marks or stamps.
