This set comprises a two-piece glazed earthenware jardinière and a matching pedestal stand. The items feature a shaded green and cream glaze, decorated with floral sprays, possibly apple blossom, which are transfer-printed with additional hand-painted details. The forms are heavily moulded in a Rococo-revival style, including scrollwork, acanthus leaves, and beaded accents. The jardinière has a bulbous body with a scalloped, foliate rim and two integral scroll handles. The matching pedestal consists of a tapered column set upon a wide, flared base that repeats the moulded motifs found on the bowl. A small black rectangular label with gold lettering is affixed to the jardinière, showing the characters BLA on the top line and STOKE on the bottom line, indicating manufacture in the Staffordshire Potteries, Stoke-on-Trent, England.
