A large, heavy-gauge cast brass decorative footed bowl, likely intended for use as a jardinière. The vessel features a deep, rounded body set upon a flared pedestal foot. The exterior is embellished with two prominent relief-cast bands featuring a repeating scrolling foliate and acanthus design, with one band encircling the upper shoulder and a complementary band around the base of the foot. The interior of the bowl reveals a corresponding recessed decorative band. The construction appears to be a combination of casting and turning. No maker’s marks, stamps, or signatures are visible on the piece.
