This brass jardiniere or planter was manufactured by the Dutch firm K.N. Daalderop and Zonen of Tiel, Holland. The vessel is constructed from spun brass and features a wide, flared rim above a bulbous body that tapers toward the base. A central embossed decorative band displays a repeating motif of ovals enclosed by stylised scrollwork. The interior of the bowl shows a contrasting grey-toned finish, likely tinned or heavily oxidised through use. The underside is stamped with a clear circular maker’s mark. The top arc of the mark reads HOLLAND and the bottom arc reads MADE IN. Within a central shield-shaped border, the left side reads TIEL and the right side reads DAALDEROP. The centre of the mark contains a circular logo depicting a rearing animal flanked by the letters K and M.
