A large Continental porcelain mantel clock presented on a matching separate plinth, designed in the ornate Rococo Revival style. The hand-painted and gilded porcelain case features a turquoise bleu céleste ground with white reserves containing floral sprays and a central pastoral scene below the dial. The case is elaborately moulded with scrolling acanthus leaves and C-scrolls, highlighted in gold throughout. It is flanked by two modelled porcelain figures in 18th-century attire: a man holding a bunch of grapes and a woman with a basket of flowers. The circular brass-toned dial has black Roman numeral hour markers and two winding holes. The mechanical movement features a single bell strike, visible through the rear aperture of the case.
