A porcelain egg carrier of rectangular form, designed with six apertures to hold eggs. The vessel features an integral rope-twist handle and the sides are molded with a basket-weave or wicker-effect texture. The top surface is decorated with a blue transfer-printed floral and foliate pattern. The piece is further embellished with gilded bands to the upper and lower rims, with additional gilded accents to the handle. The underside of the base bears a faint, circular mark in the centre, though it is worn and the details are not clearly legible.
