A vintage cast brass letter opener, also suitable for use as a page turner, featuring a decorative Pierrot or clown motif. The handle is fashioned as a stylized head in high relief, characterized by a large ruffled collar and a serene facial expression. The head section is hollow-cast. The flat, tapered blade is decorated on the obverse side with a continuous embossed scene of scrolling foliage, floral motifs, and a bird. The reverse of the opener features a textured, stippled finish. No maker’s marks, hallmarks, or country of origin stamps are visible on any surface of the item.
