A nineteenth-century German glazed hard-paste porcelain figural group spill vase, decorated in polychrome enamels and gilt highlights in the Rococo Revival style. The group depicts a pastoral scene featuring a young shepherd and shepherdess flanking a central column designed as a stylised, flowering tree trunk which functions as a spill vase. The male figure is depicted wearing a white shirt, tan breeches, and cross-tied sandals, while the female figure wears a floral-patterned skirt with a purple bodice. The figures reach toward each other across the central trunk. The base is fashioned as a rocky outcrop adorned with a profusion of applied flowers and foliage, featuring a resting ewe and a lamb. The underside bears an underglaze blue mark consisting of two crossed lines, alongside incised numbers 532 over 70, and a hand-painted decorator mark 49 in red enamel.
