A mid-20th century earthenware novelty teapot manufactured by Lingard, Webster and Co. Ltd of Tunstall, Staffordshire. The vessel is designed in the form of a cottage shaped like a shoe, incorporating the figure of the Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe (sometimes identified as Mother Hubbard) to the front. The figure is depicted wearing a bonnet and spectacles. The teapot is finished in a vibrant lime green glaze, with architectural details such as windows, doors, and character features highlighted in silver luster. The base features a circular printed backstamp reading WEBSTERS and LINGARD TUNSTALL with MADE IN ENGLAND to the centre. There is an impressed ENGLAND mark, along with a hand-painted number 67 and the letter B in black.
