A contemporary studio pottery sculptural piece, attributed to Dennis Thompson?, featuring a hand-modelled dragon perched on a large globular base. The sculpture depicts a stylised dragon with a mottled light blue body and a cream-coloured, segmented underbelly. A line of small, raised, multi-coloured glazed dots in shades of yellow, navy, turquoise, and green runs along the dragon spine from the back of the head to the base. The dragon is posed in a dynamic crouch with four clawed limbs and a horned, expressive head. It is attached to a large, rounded ceramic base finished in a deep, speckled cobalt blue glaze. The foot of the base is decorated with a border of hand-applied, raised spiral scroll motifs in a contrasting light blue/green glaze. The piece features various glazing techniques, including a speckled texture on the base and hand-painted enamelled details on the dragon spine. There are no legible factory marks or artist signatures visible.
