The sign is constructed from tin plate and features lithographed graphics. The left-hand section displays the Michelin brand name in bold yellow sans-serif block capitals against a dark blue background, surmounted by an illustration of the Bibendum (Michelin Man) character. The map section covers a geographic area including major cities such as Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds, Sheffield, and Carlisle, and includes a detailed legend for road classifications and characteristics.
