A 20th-century British school watercolour on paper. The scene depicts an English village centred around a pond in the foreground. The mid-ground features a row of trees, including several in pink blossom, while the background shows a square-towered parish church with corner pinnacles and adjacent red-roofed cottages. The work is executed using transparent watercolour washes with finer brushwork defining the foliage and water ripples. The painting is presented in a cream-coloured mount and a gilt-finished frame with a beaded inner border. No artist signature or date is visible to the front. A small auction label numbered 4858 is attached to the upper left corner of the mount.
