A neoclassical style pedestal side table or plant stand, constructed from mahogany-stained hardwood. The circular top features an inset slab of pink and cream variegated marble, bordered by a wide, moulded wooden rim. The piece is supported by a single pedestal base, featuring a capital heavily carved with foliate and scroll motifs above a fluted central column. The column terminates in a substantial circular base decorated with gadrooned carvings. No maker’s marks or labels are visible on the item.
