A pair of large figural porcelain candlesticks produced in the Rococo Revival style. Each piece features a central female figure in 18th-century attire; one is dressed in a purple-toned floral dress with a pink sash, and the other in a yellow-toned floral dress with a blue sash. Both figures are accompanied by a cherub (putto) situated amidst cloud-like formations. Each female figure supports a foliate-moulded candle nozzle. The groups stand upon flared Rococo-style pedestals characterised by scrolling forms, hand-painted floral bouquets, and extensive applied porcelain flowers. The items are finished with polychrome enamels and gilded accents. Construction involves a central metal rod and nut assembly visible on the underside. 55 Mark to Base
