This sculpture is a patinated figure based on the model Eurydice by François Roubaud (1825 to 1876). The work portrays a partially draped female figure leaning against a naturalistic tree stump, which serves as a support. The figure is modelled with a stylised aesthetic characteristic of the late 19th-century academic style, though the smooth, uniform finish and lack of foundry marks suggest it is a later 20th-century decorative cast, likely in cold-cast bronzed or a similar weighted composition material. The figure stands on an integral naturalistic base, which is further mounted on a black cylindrical plinth. No signatures, foundry marks, or edition numbers were observed during inspection.
Height: 42 cm.
