A Victorian cut glass spirit decanter of truncated conical form, featuring a hallmarked sterling silver collar. The silver collar is struck with a series of British hallmarks including the maker mark HA for Henry Atkin of Atkin Brothers, the lion passant indicating sterling silver purity, the leopard head for the London assay office, the date letter c for 1878, and the duty mark depicting the profile of Queen Victoria. The heavy lead crystal body is decorated with deep mitre cutting, comprising vertical fluted cuts to the neck, a band of fine diamond or hobnail cutting at the shoulder, and a broad lower band of large criss-cross diamonds. The decanter is complete with a matching faceted glass stopper with an orb-shaped top.
