A Swiss-made open-face pocket watch featuring a case of 0.935 fineness silver, a standard typically used for Swiss exports during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The white enamel dial is set with black Roman numeral hour markers, a rail-track minute ring, and a subsidiary seconds dial at the six o’clock position. The interior case back is stamped with the serial number 117782 and includes the Swiss 0.935 silver fineness mark within a hexagonal cartouche. Hallmarks include three standing bears, which were used in Switzerland between 1882 and 1934 to denote this grade of silver. A maker’s mark consisting of the letters CJ or GJ is present above the fineness stamp. The manual wind movement is of a bridge-plate construction with a lever escapement. The watch is finished with a fluted gilt crown and a circular silver bow.
